SAN DIEGO, CA–(MARKET WIRE)–Jun 1, 2005 — Franklin Wireless Corporation (Other OTC:FKLT.PK – News) (http://www.fklt.com/), an emerging developer/manufacturer/marketer of wireless communications devices, unveiled today its new vision, future goals, a new business model and strategies to execute the company’s goals going forward.
Mr. Hajin Jhun, the company’s newly appointed CEO, stated, “Franklin will focus its business on providing enabling services to the global wireless carriers. Our services will include providing the wireless carriers with wireless communications devices, wireless enabling technologies as well as wireless applications. In the wireless communications sub-segment, we will initially focus on developing and marketing CDMA-based wireless modems, which include PCMCIA card, USB modem, standalone modem, and embedded module. Since September of last year, we have been developing a suite of CDMA EVDO wireless modem products and are planning to unveil a series of our own EVDO wireless modem products during this month. Using our newly developed wireless CDMA communications devices, wireless users can experience true mobility in computing while enjoying the broadband speed up to 2.4 Mbps. Whether it be with a laptop, a PDA, or other wireless computing devices, a CDMA wireless user can connect to the Internet anytime, anywhere.” Mr. Jhun also added, “According a prominent IT research firm, this segment is forecasted to grow at an alarmingly high Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 44% over the next 4~5 years. It is also true that North America is by far the largest market for wireless modem devices and will continue to be so for the next 4~5 years — at present, the US accounts for approximately 52% of the total global sales and will continue to be the dominant market for the wireless modem products through 2009 claiming about 48% of the global market share. Taking into considerations such knowledge, the fact that we have maintained robust marketing channels with major carriers/distributors in the Western Hemisphere while also maintaining strong affiliations and partnerships with CDMA technology enablers in such countries as Korea, the breeding ground of CDMA technology, gives us a huge advantage in positioning ourselves as a major player in this market segment.”
“Our future plans also include expanding into the wireless applications segment. There are a significant number of competent wireless applications companies in Asia Pacific regions, namely in Japan and Korea, but only a handful of them have actually delivered their wireless applications to major carriers in the Western Hemisphere. Franklin, with its existing sales and marketing channels in the Western Hemisphere, is in an excellent position to provide these companies the much-needed window into the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Through our already established global network with partners that have applications development expertise in the areas such as entertainment, monitoring services, logistics, and finance, Franklin will be able to deliver country-specific wireless applications to the wireless carriers in these regions,” stated Mr. Jhun.
Mr. Jhun continued, “Our vision is to combine our creativity and the wide range of technologies we have available in order to provide the global wireless subscribers with quality products and services that will enhance their quality of life therefore maximizing our partner carriers’ profits. We will spare no resources in our efforts to develop the wireless technologies and applications that will offer greater convenience to the end-users thus helping carriers expand their business models.”
“The company won’t be internally developing any of its own products in the GSM mobile handset space going forward, ” Mr. Jhun continued, “however, Franklin will keep distributing the GSM mobile handsets developed by its development partners through its existing sales channels.”
