Franklin Wireless Launches CGU-720 Five-band with AWS HSUPA USB Modem

San Diego, CA—Feb. 5, 2008—Franklin Wireless Corp. (OTCBB: FKWL.OB), a developer and marketer of wireless broadband communications devices and applications, announced today the launch of the Franklin Wireless CGU-720 High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) USB modem—the fastest mobile data technology available in the mobile wireless market today.

The CGU-720 is a complete GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA HSUPA modem that enables users to send and receive email with large file attachments, receive and send high-resolution pictures and video and wirelessly connect to the Internet anytime worldwide. Where WCDMA HUSPA networks are available, the CGU-720 can deliver data rates up to 7.2 Mbps, making it the ideal solution for users who have a high level of on-the-move communications needs.

The CGU-720, available through operators and Franklin Wireless’ distributors in the second quarter of 2008, is an extremely compact device that provides a flexible way for users to connect to the Internet since it is compatible with any laptop, tablet PC or desktop USB port and operates with Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. The unit is designed to consume less power than competitors’ product which prevents significant drain on the laptop battery.

One differentiating feature of the CGU-720 include onboard flash memory, which eliminates the need for a CD or CD drive to install the factory pre-stored Connection Manager software for PC, Mac and Linux computers. This Zero-CD-Install feature minimizes set-up time for an easy install experience and a seamless connection to the internet. Users also have enough space to store downloaded music files, documents and the installation guide. CGU-720 supports multiple frequency bands 850, 900, 1700, 1800, 1900, 2100 MHz. In addition to its compact size and rotating connector, an optional external antenna is available for greater connectivity.

“With the CGU-720, Franklin Wireless is responding to the growing requirement for easy-to-use and high-performance wireless connectivity solutions,” said Mr. O.C. Kim, president of Franklin Wireless. “We are pleased to offer customers a multi-platform connectivity solution that will enable them to connect anytime globally.”

Franklin Wireless products are marketed through Original Equipment Manufacturers (“OEMs”) and distributors, as well as directly to operators. The company offers a full range of mobile broadband solutions for CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev.0 and Rev. A operators as well as WCDMA solutions that include HSDPA/HSUPA for worldwide broadband carriers.
